Kitchen Cabinet Design
Designing Kitchen Cabinets usually consists of a few steps. Here they are :
The first step includes the consideration of a few general things. The number of household people, number of cooks, other activities taking place in kitchen, any special kitchen cabinet needs etc. must be thought about meticulously to determine the true use of one’s kitchen. It should be noted that this list can be infinite but the most important things must be listed in order to get a broad perspective.
The second step consists of the desired features. Need for an island, pantry, stainless steel sink, cooktop, small appliances must be thought about over and over again.
One must understand that fewer structural and mechanic changes mean lesser spending. However, that does not necessarily imply that all of the changes are pricey. A licensed professional can provide valuable information helping one to make a final decision. A rough estimation of spending can be done by asking several questions. Knowing if the about-to-move wall is a load-bearing wall or does the new design require one to move existing windows/doors will certainly divulge a lot!
The next step is to contemplate about style. Magazines, stores, friends’ homes etc. can give you stylish ideas. However, it is imperative that your preferred style matches with your interior design. That is because, a kitchen cabinet may look in your friends’ house, but look out-of-place in yours because of the design differences of the two houses.

Local Cabinet Refacing ContractorFrom Marcia (about an earlier Newsletter): "A comment on your tip about using small quantities of paint. I bought a box of plastic picnic spoons which are great for dipping paint, glaze or varnish from the can to a small jelly or baby food jar for immediate use (mixing also). Since I'm more often painting than cooking, all my wire whisks, wooden spoons, spatulas, etc. are put to good use with paints. I also use an old set of plastic measuring cups for scooping out liquids from larger cans." I was tryin' to think of what all I use these for as I write this, and couldn't tell you, but somehow they are always handy for some small thing or another, and if you add black and white topcoats to the above list, it seems like you're prepared for a whole passel o' projects that come your way. Don't know how they come your way, -they just do... |
